- This beautiful 1928 building was The Hideout for Bonnie & Clyde during their 13 days in Joplin, Missouri. They were accompanied by Buck Barrow (Clyde's brother), wife, Blanche, and friend, W. D. Jones. On Friday, April 13, 1933, Officers Harry McGinnis and JW Harryman responded to this location after receiving reports of bootlegging. Both officers died in the shootout that followed. A roll of film was left behind and provided law enforcement with the 1st images of the couple.
- This five-room apartment is located upstairs. The Barrow gang chose this location due to the 360-degree views from here, making the apartment bright and airy. You can watch the original movie "Bonnie & Clyde" in the living room where some of the events took place. Or, read Blanche Barrows book, MY LIFE WITH BONNIE AND CLYDE written from Blanches diaries. There is an entire chapter written about the events that took place during their 13 day stay in this apartment.
